Position : Analyst / Associate / Senior Associate - Climate Operations
Location : Kolkata, West Bengal
Position Overview : We are seeking a motivated and capable Analyst / Associate / Senior Associate - Climate Operations to lead and support the implementation of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) initiatives focused on sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and rural livelihoods. The role involves extensive coordination with farmers, local governance institutions, and partner organizations to ensure effective, context-specific project execution. This position is well-suited to professionals who bring strong organizational discipline, effective communication skills, and the ability to adapt dynamically to diverse field environments.
Responsibilities :
- Lead and support the design and implementation of NBS projects that enhance agricultural sustainability, ecosystem restoration, and community well-being.
- Engage extensively with farmers, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Panchayats, and local government representatives to strengthen participation and ownership at the grassroots level.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions and training programs for community groups , field partners , and stakeholders , and carry out field surveys to assess needs and outcomes .
- Carry out field surveys , baseline assessments , and follow-up measurements to evaluate project parameters as well as community needs.
- Develop and implement efficient engagement strategies that ensure inclusion, transparency, and continuity across project cycles.
- Coordinate with research institutions, technical experts, and implementation partners to integrate field data, local knowledge, and best practices.
- Plan and execute field activities with meticulous organization, adaptability to changing conditions , and responsiveness to regional realities.
- Support project monitoring, documentation, and reporting , ensuring accuracy and consistency across outputs.
- Represent the organization in community meetings, stakeholder consultations, and workshops , clearly communicating objectives and outcomes.
- Identify potential implementation challenges and proactively design practical solutions in coordination with on-ground teams.
Desired Candidate Profile :
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Work, or Rural Development .2 to 5 years of experience in agriculture, community-based programs, or rural development projects.Demonstrated proficiency in stakeholder management, farmer engagement, capacity building, and public communication .Strong planning and coordination skills with the ability to organize multiple activities, manage timelines, and adapt effectively to evolving field contexts.Proven fieldwork experience in rural or semi-rural areas, with an understanding of agricultural systems, community structures, and institutional linkages.Familiarity with sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, and nature-based development practices .Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills .Proficiency in English and Hindi (spoken and written) is required ; proficiency in Bengali and other regional languages is preferred .Willingness and readiness to travel extensively , work with diverse communities, and adjust to variable on-ground conditions.Perks & Benefits :
