Job Description – Proposal Writer (Federal RFPs)

We are a growing US-based firm that partners with federal agencies and commercial clients to deliver impactful solutions. As we expand our presence in the federal contracting space , we are seeking an experienced Proposal Writer with a strong background in US government RFPs to join our team.

Role Overview

The Proposal Writer will be responsible for developing compliant, compelling, and well-structured proposals for US federal opportunities. This role requires familiarity with the federal procurement process and the ability to work collaboratively with capture teams, SMEs, and leadership to produce winning proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Review, interpret, and respond to federal RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and task orders .

Write and edit proposal content that is clear, persuasive, and compliant .

Collaborate with capture managers, business development, and technical experts to gather inputs.

Create and maintain compliance matrices and ensure all submissions meet solicitation requirements.

Manage the proposal development lifecycle, including reviews, deadlines, and final submission.

Maintain a library of past performance, resumes, and reusable proposal content.

Proofread, format, and standardize documents for consistency and compliance.

Requirements

3+ years of experience writing proposals for US federal government contracts .

Strong understanding of the federal acquisition process (FAR / DFAR) .

Exceptional writing, editing, and organizational skills.

Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple proposals simultaneously.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

US citizenship or work authorization required.

Preferred Qualifications

APMP certification or Shipley methodology training.

Experience supporting proposals across multiple industries (IT, staffing, healthcare, logistics, professional services, etc.).

Familiarity with proposal tools (Loopio, RFPIO, etc.).
