About us :

We are a deep tech startup focusing on the development of aero engines and turbines for defence and energy applications. We are a dynamic team of aerospace enthusiasts. We are a passionate group focusing on scientific first principles-based analysis and development followed by rapid hardware iterations. This is a fast paced work environment and demands quick execution and tangible results in a short period of time. As part of our work, our team also needs to interface with concepts of aircraft design and propulsion system integration. This role gives a great opportunity to learn about airframe design, testing and flight validation along with propulsion system integration for high speed military applications.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform structural analysis of composite structures and rapid design iterations for high-speed airframes. Demonstrate clear understanding of aircraft design concepts and structural analysis especially for high speed military applications
  • Calculate aerodynamic stresses as a function of aircraft manoeuvres
  • Perform calculations of aero-structure interaction loads, static and dynamic loads, stresses and fatigue using analytical methods as well as detailed FEA models. Implement efficient optimization workflows for rapid design iterations.
  • Collaborate with other team members and account for interdependencies of different components on airframe integration and resulting performance and impact on weight.
  • Determine dynamic properties of composite structures to estimate damaging modes of operations. Carry out modal analysis and evaluate aerodynamic flutter at high speed conditions.
  • Assist in designing vibration experiments, analysing data. Coordinate with manufacturing team with aspects related to composites manufacturing

Qualifications :

  • Understanding of basic principles of composite structures
  • Understanding of aircraft design, aero structures and aerodynamic load calculations
  • Bachelor's degree / MS in aerospace or mechanical engineering; master's preferred.
  • 2 - 3 years of relevant, hands-on experience in structural design and analysis in composite structures
  • Understanding of aerodynamics and its impact of aero structural stresses
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) for FEA analysis
  • Proficiency in first principles based analytical calculations and modelling
  • Basic understanding of optimization algorithms
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing methods for composite structures
