Job Summary :

The Surface Grinder Operator will be responsible for precision grinding and finishing of metal components used in medical devices and surgical instruments. The role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 13485 preferred).

Requirements

ey Responsibilities :

Set up and operate surface grinding machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Inspect, measure, and verify workpieces using precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM readings if applicable).

Perform manual and CNC grinding operations on tool steel, stainless steel, and other medical-grade materials.

Ensure tight tolerances, fine finishes , and dimensional accuracy required for medical components.

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and geometric tolerances (GD&T) .

Conduct machine maintenance , dressing of grinding wheels, and replacement of worn tools as required.

Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ISO 13485 quality procedures .

Record process data, inspection results, and maintain traceability documentation.

Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve any non-conformance or design issues.

Ensure compliance with safety and cleanliness standards in the work area.

Education : ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die, Mechanical, or Precision Engineering.

Experience : 2–5 years of experience as a Surface Grinder Operator, preferably in the medical device, precision engineering, or aerospace industry .

Strong knowledge of precision machining and surface finish requirements .

Ability to work with close tolerances (micron-level accuracy) .

Familiarity with ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 quality systems and cleanroom protocols (if applicable).

Good understanding of metrology instruments and process documentation .

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Willingness to work in shifts (if required).
