Role Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Vendor Development Manager with complete understanding of Balance of System (BOS) for Solar, Wind, and Green Hydrogen projects , along with deep expertise in steel fabrication, custom manufacturing, QC systems, and vendor audits .

This role will be responsible for creating and managing a pan-India ecosystem of qualified vendors and fabricators for both standard and custom BOS components across renewable and green energy sectors and will directly report to the Head of Operations .

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Identification & Development

  • Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop BOS, fabrication, machining, and electro-mechanical vendors across India .
  • Build a national vendor base for :
  • Solar BOS : MMS, cable trays, junction boxes, inverter skids, transformer skids, earthing structures, walkways, fencing, SCADA panels.
  • Wind BOS : Towers, internal platforms, ladders, nacelle skids, foundation hardware, electrical BOS, heavy fabricated structures.
  • Green Hydrogen BOS : Electrolyser skids, pressure vessels, storage tanks, piping spools, manifolds, compressor skids, cooling skids, process structures.
  • Develop vendors for both standardized mass production and complex custom-built systems .
  • 2. Vendor Audits & Capability Assessment

  • Conduct technical, quality, safety, and commercial audits of fabrication and BOS manufacturing units.
  • Evaluate plant & machinery, CNC and heavy fabrication capability, welding qualifications (WPS / PQR), galvanizing / painting, NDT / testing facilities, and production capacity.
  • Maintain vendor qualification scorecards and approval matrices .
  • 3. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Establish and enforce vendor QC frameworks for renewable and green hydrogen BOS.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001, ASME / API, and EPC / client specifications .
  • Implement incoming, in-process, FAT, and final inspection systems .
  • 4. Technical & BOS Evaluation

  • Review BOMs, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, P&IDs, and layouts .
  • Support design-to-manufacturing validation and prototyping .
  • Enable smooth engineering-to-vendor handover for production .
  • 5. Cost Benchmarking & Best Price Discovery

  • Lead pan-India price benchmarking for BOS and fabrication.
  • Support the AI-driven best price discovery platform with validated cost data.
  • Build multi-vendor sourcing strategies to optimize cost, lead time, and supply risk.
  • 6. Strategic Vendor Partnerships

  • Build and manage long-term strategic vendor partnerships .
  • Support GW-scale solar, wind, and hydrogen projects .
  • Coordinate with Procurement, Projects, Engineering, QC, and Logistics teams .
  • Mandatory Candidate Requirements

  • 7-10 years in Vendor Development / BOS Sourcing / Fabrication Supply Chain .
  • Strong hands-on understanding of BOS for Solar, Wind & Green Hydrogen .
  • Proven experience in developing fabricators across India .
  • Deep knowledge of steel fabrication plant & machinery, welding, machining, galvanizing, painting .
  • Strong exposure to EPC / OEM / Heavy Engineering / Renewable Manufacturing .
  • Excellent understanding of QC systems, inspection protocols, and documentation .
  • Willingness for extensive pan-India travel .
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering .
  • Experience with :
  • Solar MMS manufacturers
  • Wind tower or heavy engineering companies
  • Green hydrogen / electrolyser OEMs or EPCs
  • Exposure to ERP, digital sourcing platforms, and supply chain analytics .
