Job Title : Senior Azure Cloud Architect (Terraform & Migration Expert)

Location : India - Remote

Job Type : 12 month freelance contract

Start Date : ASAP

My client are seeking a highly skilled Senior Azure Cloud Architect with deep expertise in cloud migration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, and Microsoft Azure services.

This is a leadership role requiring strong technical acumen, hands-on coding capability, and the ability to drive cloud transformation projects end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud migration strategies for on-premises infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, following best practices.
  • Lead technical architecture discussions with clients and internal teams.
  • Establish and enforce security best practices across cloud environments.
  • Guide the team in building, testing, and deploying Terraform modules across Dev, Test, and Production environments.
  • Create comprehensive documentation for architectures, processes, and standards.
  • Act as a technical leader, mentoring team members and front-ending architectural reviews.
  • Champion DevOps methodologies, CI / CD automation, and modular infrastructure design.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 15+ years of overall IT experience with a focus on Microsoft Azure Cloud.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in on-prem to Azure cloud infrastructure migrations.

    • Expertise with the following :

  • Microsoft Azure services : Compute, Storage, Networking, Security.
  • Terraform : Writing reusable, modular IaC code and managing infrastructure.
  • DevOps practices : CI / CD pipelines, automation, monitoring.
  • Cloud security : IAM, encryption policies, NSGs, firewall rules.
  • Networking : VNETs, subnetting, routing, and secure connectivity.
  • Strong communication and client-facing leadership skills.
