Job Description – Zonal Head (Equity Business)

Role Overview
The Zonal Head – Equity Business will lead the equity operations and sales performance across Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore. This role includes full P&L responsibility for the zone, expansion of branches and client base, regulatory compliance, and driving equity revenue through retail and HNI segments. The ideal candidate is a seasoned broking professional with strong leadership skills, deep understanding of equity markets, and proven experience in multi-city business management.
Key Responsibilities
1. P&L Ownership – Equity Business
- Own and manage the P&L for the equity vertical across all three cities.
- Drive equity revenue through brokerage generation, trading volumes, and client activity.
- Monitor city-wise profitability, cost ratios, and operational efficiency.
2. Equity Sales & Business Growth
Lead business expansion for equity retail, HNI, and advisory segments.Drive new client acquisition (Retail, HNI, Ultra HNI) and increase wallet share from existing customers.Increase cross-sell of equity-linked products such as IPOs, research-based advisory, margin products, and digital trading solutions.3. Multi-City Leadership & Branch Management
Oversee the daily operations and business performance of all branches across Chennai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore.Support City Heads / Branch Managers in achieving monthly and quarterly equity targets.Ensure consistent execution of sales processes, onboarding, research distribution, and service delivery.4. Market Expertise & Strategy Execution
Work closely with research, dealing, RMS, and product teams to develop and implement growth strategies.Leverage market insights to drive higher trading activity and client engagement.Strengthen relationships with HNI clients through market intelligence and investment guidance (non-advisory if applicable).5. Compliance, Risk & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure all branches comply with SEBI, NSE, BSE, and internal broking guidelines.Manage key risk controls including margin monitoring, exposure checks, and audit readiness.Ensure seamless and compliant client onboarding (KYC, account opening, pledge / unpledge, etc.).6. Leadership & Team Development
Lead and mentor equity sales teams, dealers, relationship managers, and branch heads.Build a high-performance culture focused on productivity, compliance, and client-centricity.Drive training and upskilling initiatives for equity market knowledge and advisory orientation.Required Qualifications & Experience
Graduate / Postgraduate;MBA / Finance preferred.
10–15+ years of experience in the broking industry with strong exposure to equity markets.Proven track record in multi-city business management and equity sales leadership.Strong understanding of market products, trading platforms, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.Experience in driving P&L, team performance, and business expansion.Key Skills
