Job description

Job Summary :

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. You will respond to queries, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Provide first-line technical support to end users on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other hardware.
  • Maintain and support operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and business applications.
  • Respond to support tickets and document solutions using an IT service management system (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk).
  • Set up new user accounts and profiles, and deal with password issues.
  • Assist in the management of IT assets, including inventory tracking and equipment lifecycle.
  • Ensure security and compliance standards are met on all desktop systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex issues and participate in system upgrades or deployments.
  • Provide remote support using tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or Remote Desktop.

Requirements :

Education & Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 1–3 years of experience in desktop support or a similar IT support role.
  • Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency with Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365, VPNs, and remote access tools.
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP / IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi).
  • Familiarity with imaging tools and deployment software.
  • Soft Skills :

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Customer-focused with a helpful and professional attitude.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft MTA / MCSA, ITIL Foundation).
  • Experience supporting remote or hybrid workforces.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL best practices.
