We are looking for an experienced Linux / Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our team on a freelance / contract basis. This role involves working across Linux / Windows administration, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), security compliance, and automation. You'll be contributing to high-impact security and DevOps initiatives while supporting operations in a dynamic, customer-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, patch, and secure Linux (primarily Red Hat) and Windows systems.
- Ensure compliance with NIST 800-53 , customer-specific baselines, and CIS benchmarks .
- Manage Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services, including networking, compute, and storage.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and compliance using Terraform and Ansible .
- Build and maintain CI / CD pipelines for customer self-service deployments.
- Identify, analyze, and remediate vulnerabilities across OS and applications.
- Support operational work beyond core Linux / OCI functions (flexibility required).
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams on design, architecture, and security initiatives.
- Develop scripts and automation (Bash, Python, PowerShell).
- Document compliance checks, operational procedures, and automation workflows.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years as a Linux Systems Engineer (Red Hat preferred).Strong Windows administration and security baseline knowledge.Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services.Proficiency with Terraform (must-have) and Ansible.Solid understanding of NIST 800-53, CIS benchmarks, and compliance frameworks .Experience in vulnerability scanning and remediation (Tenable, Qualys a plus).Familiarity with CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices .Scripting skills (Bash, Python, or PowerShell).Strong troubleshooting across OS, cloud, and networking layers.Nice-to-Have Skills
Knowledge of OCI DevOps services and pipelines.Familiarity with hardening tools and enterprise vulnerability scanners.Networking (DNS, VPN, Firewalls, Load Balancers).Experience with multi-cloud / hybrid (AWS / Azure / GCP).Soft Skills
