Role Description : -
The Senior Manager EHS & Sustainability will be responsible for implementing and monitoring the organizations Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems across projects, while integrating sustainability practices. The role involves ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, driving site-level safety initiatives, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture within project operations. The incumbent will play a critical role in supporting the EHS Head in achieving EHS objectives, ensuring stakeholder engagement, and driving continuous improvement in line with Welspun Ones sustainability vision.
Essential Accountabilities
Safety Management System (SMS) Implementation
- Execute safety policies and procedures in line with Welspun Ones EHS manual and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update site-level SMS documentation.
Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment
Conduct hazard analysis for all site activities and implement preventive measures.Perform safety inspections and prepare reports with corrective / preventive recommendations.Ensure timely closure of findings from safety audits and surveys.Policy Compliance & Enforcement
Ensure adherence to company EHS policies, procedures, and rules at site.Support the Management of Change (MoC) process during organizational or operational changes.Equipment & Safety Readiness
Ensure timely inspection, testing, and certification of safety equipment and PPE.Liaise with contractors / vendors for equipment compliance and safety practices.Competency & Training
Coordinate with HR to ensure EHS training requirements are met.Conduct inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.Develop site-level awareness programs on sustainability and contingency management.Stakeholder & Contractor Management
Guide contractors on safe practices and ensure compliance with EHS standards.Conduct toolbox talks, safety meetings, and regular contractor EHS audits.Sustainability Initiatives
Support sustainability programs such as waste reduction, water management, and energy efficiency at sites.Track sustainability KPIs and prepare reports for review.Reporting & Communication
Ensure timely reporting of incidents, near misses, and safety performance indicators.Support data collection for regulatory and internal EHS reporting.Educational Requirement and Work Experience
Education : B.Sc. / Diploma / Graduate in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical)Additional Qualifications : Post-Graduation in EHS, Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety (MSBTE), or equivalent certificationsExperience : 812 years of experience in EHS within construction / industrial sectors (high-rise or large-scale infrastructure preferred)
