Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and innovative R&D Engineer with expertise in optics, hardware design, and mechatronics . The ideal candidate will play a critical role in developing and optimizing optical setups and integrated hardware systems for Robro’s industrial vision solutions.
This role combines mechanical, electrical, and optical engineering skills with cross-functional collaboration in AI, software, and product development , including onsite deployment and testing at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and refine optical systems and mechatronic assemblies for industrial vision applications.
- Integrate hardware components (cameras, sensors, lighting, actuators) with AI and software systems.
- Conduct experiments, prototyping, and performance validation of optical and hardware designs.
- Collaborate closely with AI, software, and product engineering teams for seamless system integration.
- Perform onsite installation, testing, and troubleshooting of vision systems at client facilities.
- Document research outcomes, design specifications, and improvement recommendations.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in optics, machine vision, and industrial automation technologies .
Requirements
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Optics, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.2–5 years of experience in R&D, product development, or industrial automation .Strong understanding of optical systems, imaging sensors, lenses, and lighting .Basic knowledge of mechanical design, electrical circuits, and system integration .Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation software .Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.Excellent collaboration and communication abilities for cross-functional projects.Willingness to travel and work on onsite deployments and customer installations .Preferred Qualifications
Experience with industrial vision systems, photonics, or optical testing setups .Familiarity with camera calibration, lens selection, and illumination design .Knowledge of product prototyping, testing, and field validation .Exposure to AI-driven or automation-based hardware systems .Requirements
