Borders General Hospital is a modern and well-equipped 320 bed DGH serving the rural Borders area in South East Scotland, approximately 36 miles from Edinburgh.

The Role

The appointee will share in the provision of the general surgical service at the BGH with an on-call commitment of 1 in 6. There are another four consultants providing general cover and have interests in Breast, Colorectal, Upper GI and Bariatric, ERCP, Thyroid and Laparoscopic surgery. No special interest is required for this post.

Candidates must hold FRCS or equivalent and must be fully registered with a licence to practice from the General Medical Council and ideally registered on the specialist register or be within 6 months of expected date of obtaining CCT or equivalent .
