1. Role Purpose
The CEO will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and overall direction to the organization, driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence across all verticals—Retail, Corporate, Specialty, Reinsurance, and Digital. He / she will lead the company’s efforts in business acquisition, client servicing, underwriting advisory, claims management, and relationship development with insurers, reinsurers, and large corporate clients.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Strategic Leadership
Define and execute a long-term strategic roadmap aligned with the company’s vision and the board’s growth objectives.
Drive expansion into new markets, segments, and distribution channels.
Lead transformation initiatives in technology, analytics, and digital client engagement.
Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations and maintain the highest standards of corporate governance.
B. Business Development & Sales
Build and lead a high-performing sales organization to drive top-line revenue.
Oversee acquisition and retention of large corporate, SME, and retail clients.
Establish strategic alliances with insurers, reinsurers, and global brokers to enhance product offerings and placement capabilities.
Formulate pricing and client engagement strategies to enhance market share and margins.
C. P&L and Financial Management
Take full ownership of P&L, including revenue growth, cost control, and profitability.
Implement financial discipline, performance monitoring, and budgeting processes LOB wise .
Ensure efficient working capital management and sustainable growth.
D. Underwriting, Placement, and Techno-Commercial Oversight
Guide placement and underwriting teams to secure optimal terms, conditions, and pricing from insurers.
Review and approve large and complex risk placements across all lines (Property, Liability, Marine, Employee Benefits, Specialty, etc.).
Ensure robust risk analysis, underwriting discipline, and compliance with regulatory norms.
Promote technical capability building and domain expertise across teams.
E. Claims Management
Oversee end-to-end claims advisory, negotiation, and settlement processes to ensure superior client satisfaction.
Develop frameworks for technical claims handling and escalation management.
Build strong working relationships with insurers to expedite large and complex claims.
F. Operational Excellence & Governance
Streamline processes to enhance efficiency, client experience, and regulatory compliance.
Ensure data integrity, documentation standards, and audit-readiness at all times.
Drive automation, digital broking tools, CRM adoption, and analytics-led decision-making.
Ensure IRDAI compliance, internal audit, and board reporting standards.
G. People Leadership
Build, mentor, and retain a strong second line of leaders across functions.
Instill a performance-driven, ethical, and client-centric culture.
Champion diversity, continuous learning, and employee engagement initiatives.
H. External Relationships
Represent the company with IRDAI, insurers, reinsurers, industry associations (e.g., IRM, FICCI, CII), and other stakeholders.
Promote brand visibility and thought leadership through participation in industry forums and media.
3. Qualifications & Experience
Graduate / Postgraduate in Business, Finance, or Insurance (MBA, CA, or equivalent preferred).
Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India or equivalent international qualification (CII, CPCU, etc.) preferred.
Minimum 20+ years of progressive experience in Insurance Broking / Risk Advisory, with at least 5-8 years in a senior leadership or P&L role.
Proven experience in large, multi-line insurance broking operations in India.
Deep understanding of insurance products, underwriting, placement, claims, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
Demonstrated success in driving business growth, profitability, and market leadership.
Strong network with insurers, reinsurers, corporate clients, and industry bodies.
