Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Should Costing Engineer with 5–6 years of expertise in cost estimation and analysis of aerospace components across multiple commodities including machining, casting, forging, plastics, and sheet metal. The role involves detailed cost analysis, process time estimation, and preparation of comprehensive cost break-ups for manufacturing operations to support cost optimization and sourcing decisions. Immediate joiners preferred for our Bangalore location.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform Should Cost analysis of aerospace components across commodities such as machining, casting, forging, plastics, and sheet metal.

Analyze technical drawings, models, and specifications to estimate process times and manufacturing costs.

Provide detailed cost break-ups for processes including machining, heat and surface treatments, coatings, chemical processes, welding, riveting, bolting, assembly, and testing.

Work closely with design, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Evaluate production time, material, and labor requirements for accurate quotation and negotiation support.

Prepare Excel-based cost models and maintain cost databases.

Present cost findings and recommendations effectively with strong communication and documentation skills.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or Aerospace Engineering.

5–6 years of relevant experience in Should Costing and manufacturing cost estimation of aerospace or mechanical components.

Hands-on experience working in a manufacturing or shop floor environment (mass / batch production).

Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and applying GD&T principles.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and material specifications.

Expertise in Excel-based costing; exposure to Should Costing tools is an advantage.

Excellent communication skills with proficiency in English and MS Office.
