Job descriptionLead end-to-end implementation / configuration of SAP FI modules (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking) with a focus on tax functionality (tax codes, tax procedures, withholding tax, inter-company tax). Collaborate with Tax, Finance, IT and Audit teams to translate tax requirements into SAP FI configurations and system designs. Configure and maintain tax codes, tax procedures, tax determination logic within SAP FI (and integration with other modules such as SD, MM) with both ECC and S / 4HANA landscapes. (See example : requirement for configuring tax codes and tax procedures within FI module) Apna+2Outscal+2 Oversee the integration of SAP FI with indirect tax engines or tax-technology platforms (if applicable). Lead workshops with stakeholders, capture business requirements, map to SAP FI tax functionalities, design blueprints, and manage build / test / deploy phases. Manage tax-related processes in SAP FI : e.g., withholding tax, inter-company tax, tax‐related postings, tax accruals, tax reporting (as part of FI closing and statutory reporting). For example, in one role : 'SAP Finance – Taxation and Withholding Taxes.' Example : exposure to India taxation (GST) in SAP FI tax technology role. EY Careers Drive continuous improvement : automation of tax posting processes, reduction of manual interventions, optimization of tax data flows in SAP FI. Mentor and manage a team of SAP FI tax functional consultants / analysts; coordinate and liaise with SAP technical teams (ABAP, Basis), vendors, and external partners. Manage project risks, budgeting, vendor deliverables, and ensure timely delivery of SAP FI tax projects. Prepare documentation : configuration guides, process flows, tax‐tech interfaces, training materials and ensure knowledge transfer. Stay current on tax technology trends, SAP releases (S / 4HANA, tax modules), and ensure system readiness / preparation for changes in tax regulation. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or similar discipline. CA / CPA or equivalent would be a plus. A strong functional experience (typically 10-14+ years, depending on company size) in SAP FI with a focus on tax modules / functions (tax codes, tax procedures, withholding, inter-company tax) in ECC and / or S / 4HANA. For example, roles listed require 12+ years for Senior Manager SAP FI tax technology. Outscal+1 Proven experience in configuring SAP FI tax functionality, including tax determination, tax integration with SD / MM, and supporting tax reporting. Strong business / finance domain knowledge of tax (direct / indirect / withholding / inter-company) and how it integrates with SAP finance modules. Experience working in global or multi-geography finance / tax environment is preferred. Excellent stakeholder management skills—interacting with Tax, Finance, IT, Audit, vendors and external consultants. Excellent analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills. Sound project management skills—able to lead SAP FI tax‐centric rollouts, upgrades, and support operations. Good communication and team leadership skills; ability to mentor and guide junior team members. SAP certification(s) in FI and / or SAP S / 4HANA relevant modules. Experience with tax engine or tax-technology solutions (e.g., indirect tax engines) integrated into SAP FI / SD / MM. Understanding of SAP S / 4HANA migration impacts on tax processes. Familiarity with Fiori / UX front ends, SAP Finance (New GL), and emerging tax technology trends. Experience in consulting environment (preferred) where you have handled multiple clients / projects. Strategic thinking : align SAP tax solution with business / tax objectives. Change-leadership : ability to drive process change, automation, digitalization of tax-finance workflows. Leadership : manage team, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, vendor governance. Communication & influence : explain complex tax / technical issues to finance / IT senior management. Delivery-oriented : focus on deadlines, quality, system stability and compliance. Integrity and attention to detail due to regulatory nature of tax. On-time delivery of SAP FI tax projects / rollouts (within budget, scope). Number of tax‐related incidents or non-compliance notifications post-implementation. Reduction in manual tax postings and interventions in SAP FI. Improvement in accuracy / timeliness of tax‐related postings and reports. Stakeholder satisfaction (Tax, Finance, Audit) with SAP FI tax solution. Team productivity and resource utilization in tax technology domain. Reports to : Head of SAP Finance / Tax Technology or Director – Finance Technology. Direct Reports : Senior Consultants / Consultants (SAP FI Tax), Tax Technology Analysts. Collaborates with : Tax team, Finance operations, IT teams (including Basis, ABAP, BI), External consultants / vendors.
Role Summary
- The Senior Manager – SAP FI Tax will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of the SAP Finance (FI) module with a specific focus on tax processing (direct, indirect, withholding, etc.). This role will ensure tax-compliance integration within SAP FI, support tax business & technology teams, manage configuration of tax codes / procedures, and steer process improvements across the finance-tax interface.
