  • Burns McDonnell India has exciting opportunity for Civil Designer interested in growing their careers in an organization listed among top 100 Large-size Great Places to Work in India. The company is in the process of establishing the Transportation Global Practice in Mumbai office mainly to serve the transportation market in North America region.
  • This group will eventually provide engineering services for projects which include but not limited to roadways, highways, bridges, railroad, and traffic signaling systems.
  • We are looking for an experienced and energetic Structural Engineer to join our Transportation team
  • Mumbai office to lead and support Bridge design activities on projects mainly in North America region.
  • The successful candidate will report to a Section Manager and will assist in building the Bridge design team to support future transportation projects across the global practice.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Analysis, design, and plan production for steel and prestressed concrete Superstructures / substructures of bridge projects.
  • Hydraulic Analysis of Bridges.
  • Haunch design and deflection diagram Foundation design of all types for Bridges.
  • Design of RCC retaining walls.
  • Works with existing standards, budgets, and schedules. Takes the initiative to get the job done on time and with consistent accuracy.
  • Prepare designs, specifications, or estimates for transportation facilities.
  • Geotechnical report review, analysis and provide comments / clarifications.
  • Receives technical guidance on uncommon or complex structural problems with supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.

    • Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in civil engineering from a recognized institution. Masters in Structural Engineering an added advantage.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum 2 years to 8 years of working experience in Transportation / Structural design.
  • Understanding of codes and standards (ASCE, ACI, AASHTO) and its applicability for practical design of Roads and Highways. Knowledge of LRFD Bridge Design Specification is a plus
  • Dynamic personality, eager to learn and interested in a stable commitment.
  • Good Communication skills (verbal written) and ability to self-check and produce

    • Tools :

  • Knowledge of structural bridge design software such as LEAP, MIDAS, MDX, RISA or equivalent preferred
  • Knowledge of Civil 3D, OpenRoads, OpenRail, Microstation preferred.
  • o Microsoft Office Tools - MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, Outlook, OneNote
