POSITION OVERVIEW
The HR Compliance Coordinator plays a critical offshore role in supporting North American HR and Compliance operations. This position is responsible for the intake, assessment, and triage of compliance-related inquiries submitted through Salesforce or similar ticketing platforms. Serving as the first point of contact for employees, the coordinator gathers essential information, asks targeted clarifying questions, and ensures each case is accurately documented and routed for timely resolution.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ticket & Case Management
- Monitor and manage all compliance-related tickets submitted through Salesforce or similar systems.
- Engage with employees to understand each inquiry by asking clarifying and contextual questions.
- Document and track each case accurately from intake through resolution.
- Own assigned tickets and ensure timely, accurate follow-through.
2. Compliance Triage & Escalation
Evaluate the nature, urgency, and risk level of each compliance issue.Route or escalate cases to HR, Legal, Payroll, Benefits, or other departments with full documentation and context.Maintain organized intake logs for reporting, audits, and compliance tracking.Identify trends, recurring issues, or potential risks and escalate for review or process improvement.3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with subject-matter experts across internal functions to validate information and gather insights.Collaborate with Legal, Health & Safety, Benefits, and other stakeholders when specialized guidance is needed.Support ongoing process improvements by sharing observations and trend-based insights.4. Employment Standards & Classification Compliance
Validate correct employment classification (e.g., W-2 vs. 1099, employee vs. independent contractor) in accordance with U.S. and Canadian federal, state, and provincial rules.Monitor compliance with wage and hour regulations, including minimum wage, overtime, breaks, and paid leave.Ensure timely delivery of required onboarding disclosures and labor-code postings.Support investigations and audits related to timekeeping discrepancies, off-the-clock work, or wage issues.5. External Audit Support
Assist with third-party audits for contractor onboarding and compliance requirements.Produce documentation such as background checks, drug testing results, education / license verifications, and other required records.Maintain secure, compliant storage of sensitive background and credentialing data.Coordinate with screening vendors, hiring teams, and internal departments to resolve issues or delays.Must-Have Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience in HR operations, compliance support, or case management.Understanding of U.S. or Canadian employment compliance (classification, wage & hour, health & safety).Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain and document complex issues clearly.Proven critical thinker with a proactive, solution-oriented approach.Skilled in asking targeted questions to gather essential facts.Experience working with Salesforce or similar case / ticketing tools.Highly organized, dependable, and able to handle sensitive information with discretion.Knowledge of background screening and credentialing processesExperience on North American employment standardsPreferred Qualifications
Experience supporting North American teams from an offshore / remote environment.Comfortable working across time zones in a remote-first setting.WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE
