Mechanical Auditor

Job Purpose

The Mechanical Auditor is responsible for auditing CAPEX and OPEX mechanical activities, validating executed work, verifying procurement and billing accuracy, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and approved contracts. The role aims to optimize cost control, strengthen project governance, and maintain transparency in mechanical execution across the chemical plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify completed CAPEX & OPEX bills and match them with actual work executed during site visits.
• Check and validate task rates against approved ARC (Annual Rate Contracts) .
• Verify measurements based on actual physical work completed and document discrepancies in audit reports.
• Review BOQ and MOQ against material purchase quantities to ensure procurement compliance.
• Identify tasks performed outside ARC scope and ensure proper approval and justification.
• Inspect all executed mechanical works to ensure adherence to engineering standards, specifications, and quality benchmarks.
• Audit equipment purchase details including cost, technical specifications, make / brand, and nameplate information.
• Inspect structural work, welding joints, and fabrication quality; document defects, improper practices, or non-compliance.
• Compare material procurement prices with prevailing market rates and highlight cost deviations.
• Review preventive maintenance records to ensure timely maintenance, documentation accuracy, and equipment reliability.
