Key Responsibilities :
1. Pattern Development :
- Interpret design sketches, technical packs, or samples to create first patterns.
- Develop both manual and digital patterns using tools like CAD (Gerber, Lectra, Optitex, etc.).
- Make necessary adjustments for fabric type, shrinkage, and wearability.
2. Sample & Fit Coordination :
Collaborate with designers and sample makers to develop prototypes.Participate in fit sessions, analyze fit issues, and make pattern corrections.Ensure fit and grading meet brand standards for various sizes.3. Grading & Production Readiness :
Perform grading of patterns into different sizes according to size charts.Prepare production-ready patterns with detailed markings (grain lines, notches, seam allowances, etc.).Ensure patterns are optimized for fabric utilization and cost-effective manufacturing.4. Quality & Compliance :
Maintain high accuracy and consistency in patterns to minimize production errors.Ensure compliance with brand standards and technical requirements.Review and refine patterns based on feedback from QA or production teams.5. Documentation & Archiving :
Maintain organized records of patterns, versions, and revisions.Digitally archive final patterns for future use and reference.Key Requirements :
Education :Diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Pattern Making, Apparel Technology, or related field.Experience :3–8 years of experience as a Pattern Maker in fashion / apparel manufacturing.Experience with woven, knit, or specialty garments (depending on industry focus).Skills :Excellent knowledge of garment construction and textilesStrong technical skills in manual and CAD-based pattern makingAttention to detail and precision in measurements and gradingAbility to interpret fashion illustrations and tech packsEffective collaboration and communication skillsSkills Required
