Procurement Manager _ Industrial Warehousing

A Manager - Contracts and Procurement role is responsible for acquiring the necessary goods, services, and materials for a project, managing the entire contract lifecycle, and ensuring that all activities are cost-effective, compliant with regulations, and align with project objectives.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of project contracts and procurement specialist or manager include :

• Procurement Planning and Strategy : Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to determine project needs, developing cost-effective sourcing strategies, and creating a comprehensive procurement plan.
• Supplier Sourcing and Evaluation : Researching, identifying, and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability criteria.
• Tender and Proposal Management : Preparing and issuing bidding documents, such as Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Quotations (RFQs), managing the bid evaluation process, and selecting the most suitable vendors.
• Contract Negotiation and Drafting : Leading negotiations with suppliers and contractors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and conditions. This involves drafting, reviewing, and executing legally sound contracts and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and internal policies.
• Contract and Vendor Management : Overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, monitoring vendor performance against agreed-upon benchmarks and timelines, and maintaining strong, long-term relationships.
• Risk Management : Identifying and assessing potential supply chain and contractual risks, developing mitigation strategies, and resolving any contractual disputes or issues that may arise.
• Cost Analysis and Budgeting : Conducting cost analyses, approving purchase orders, tracking project procurement expenditure, and striving for cost savings without compromising quality or project timelines.
• Documentation and Reporting : Maintaining accurate records of all contracts, purchases, and related documentation. Preparing reports and communicating progress updates and potential issues to management and internal stakeholders.
