Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers building scalable, intelligent, and customer-centric products across Kapiva’s E-commerce and Health Tech platforms . You will own the delivery of key initiatives end-to-end — from design to deployment — while fostering a culture of engineering excellence and AI-driven innovation .
This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can balance people leadership, product execution, and the integration of AI and automation into engineering and customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of SDEs, SDETs, and DevOps engineers to deliver impactful products and features.
Drive design and development of scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices , and ensure seamless integration with web and mobile platforms.
Partner with Product Managers, Designers, and QA to define roadmaps, priorities, and release plans.
Ensure engineering best practices across code reviews, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement .
Conduct 1 : 1s, performance reviews, and career development plans for engineers.
Drive hiring, onboarding, and capability building within the team.
Track engineering metrics (velocity, quality, reliability) to improve delivery efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on architecture, scalability, and timelines.
Stay hands-on to guide engineers through technical design discussions and reviews.
Required Skills and Qualifications
8–10 years of total experience, including 2+ years in engineering leadership or team lead roles .
Strong technical background in backend systems (Node.js, Java, or Python) and cloud-native architectures (AWS / GCP) .
Proven experience designing and scaling microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems .
Solid understanding of frontend integration (React / Next.js or similar frameworks).
Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams (backend, QA, DevOps).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to drive execution under tight timelines while maintaining quality.
B.Tech / M.Tech in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Bonus Points
Prior experience in Ecommerce or Health Tech platforms.
Exposure to security, compliance, or performance optimization at scale.
Experience in setting up platform engineering or DevOps automation .
Ability to scale teams and systems simultaneously .
Exposure to AI-driven personalization, recommendations, or chatbot systems .
