Job Title Level 3 NDT Engineer

Purpose

A Level 3 NDT Technician in the open forging industry is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing non-destructive testing (NDT) procedures, techniques, and standards within a forging facility. This role involves a high level of technical expertise, including the ability to interpret codes and standards, train Level I and II technicians, and collaborate with engineers and quality assurance teams.

Responsibilities

• Procedure Development : Develop and implement NDT procedures, techniques, and methodologies to meet forging industry standards and it’s customer requirements.
• Training and Supervision : Train and mentor Level, I and II NDT technicians, ensuring they meet competency standards.
• Technical Support : Provide technical guidance and support to Level I and II technicians, addressing questions and resolving issues related to NDT procedures.
• Interpretation and Evaluation : Interpret NDT test results, identify defects, and determine if parts meet quality standards.
• Documentation and Reporting : Prepare and maintain detailed NDT reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Equipment Maintenance : Ensure the proper calibration and maintenance of NDT equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Compliance : Ensure adherence to all relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to NDT.
• Collaboration : Collaborate with engineers, quality assurance teams, and other stakeholders to address technical issues and ensure quality control.
• Problem Solving : Identify and resolve issues related to NDT procedures, techniques, or equipment.
• Process Improvement : Contribute to the continuous improvement of NDT processes and procedures, optimizing efficiency and effectiveness.
