Linux Systems Engineer – Cloud & Mainframe Integration

The Role

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead OS patching activities for LINUX systems.
• Analyse and assess patch requirements and their impact on infrastructure and applications.
• Create and maintain detailed work plans and procedures based on existing design documents, past procedures, and templates.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to ensure successful implementation of changes.
• Review customer-requested changes, provide feedback, and implement them in a timely manner.
• Execute patching and maintenance tasks, ensuring minimal disruption to system operations.
• Linux (RHEL) server construction using Ansible.
• Develop, manage, and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible and Ansible Tower.
• Integrate the Ansible Tower with service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira) to enhance IT workflows and streamline event automation processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement automation solutions.
• Use Git for version control and collaboration on Ansible playbooks and scripts.
• Write and maintain Python scripts to support automation tasks and integration with other tools.
• Develop and maintain shell scripts for various automation tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Ansible Tower, playbooks, and integrations.
• Monitor and maintain Ansible Tower infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Document automation processes, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
