Role Overview
The Assistant Manager – Fundraising & Strategy will play a critical role in identifying, developing, and managing fundraising initiatives, strategic partnerships, and investor relations to fuel Mode Retails' growth across domestic and international markets. This individual will work closely with leadership to conceptualize and execute fundraising strategies, build relationships with investors, prepare investment pitches, and support long-term strategic planning for business expansion, particularly in retail, FMCG, and luxury lifestyle sectors.
Key ResponsibilitiesFundraising & Investor Relations
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising roadmap aligned with the company's short-term and long-term growth plans.
- Identify, research, and engage with potential investors, VCs, HNIs, family offices, private equity firms, and CSR funds (domestic and international).
- Create investment pitches, financial models, and investor presentations tailored to different investor categories.
- Maintain ongoing communication and relationship management with existing and prospective investors, ensuring timely updates and reporting.
- Monitor industry and investment trends to proactively align with opportunities.
- Support due diligence processes including financial, legal, and operational documentation.
Strategic Planning & Business Development
Assist in developing and executing the corporate strategy roadmap, particularly focusing on retail expansion, airport experience centers, luxury incense, perfumes, and Ayurveda product lines.Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and sector benchmarking to identify new growth opportunities.Collaborate with internal teams (Retail, E-commerce, Digital, Franchise, Production, and Marketing) to align strategic goals with operational execution.Support in structuring and negotiating strategic alliances, partnerships, and joint ventures with retail, hospitality, and distribution partners.Monitor performance of strategic initiatives and prepare monthly / quarterly reports for leadership.Financial Strategy & Analysis
Build and maintain financial projections, business models, and ROI analysis for new initiatives.Work with the Finance team to align fundraising targets with budget planning and cash flow requirements.Prepare and maintain investor-ready documents such as Information Memorandums, Term Sheets, and Due Diligence packs.Communication & Representation
Represent Mode Retails at investor meetings, industry forums, business summits, and exhibitions.Draft strategic communications, proposals, and policy papers for both internal and external stakeholders.Collaborate with the Corporate Communications & Digital Marketing teams for branding and positioning Mode Retails as an attractive investment destination.Qualifications & SkillsEducation
MBA / PGDM (Finance, Strategy, Business Development, or Marketing) from a reputed institute.Additional certifications in fundraising, investment banking, or financial modeling will be an advantage.Experience
3–6 years of professional experience in fundraising, investment banking, corporate strategy, or business development (preferably in FMCG, Retail, Lifestyle, Luxury, or Startup ecosystem).Proven track record in raising funds or supporting investor relations through venture capital, private equity, or corporate financing.Strong exposure to strategic planning, market research, and business analysis.Experience in preparing pitch decks, financial projections, and business plans for investors.Prior engagement with international investors and cross-border partnerships will be a plus.Technical & Functional Skills
Excellent knowledge of financial modeling, valuation methods, and investment processes.Strong understanding of FMCG / retail industry trends, fundraising ecosystem, and investor expectations.Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is desirable.Strong business writing and presentation skills.Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality outputs within deadlines.Soft Skills
