Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Technical Leadership
Define and execute the long-term vision and roadmap for Brakes Engineering aligned with global transit needs.
Lead innovation in modular and intelligent braking systems, promoting sustainability and reliability.
Drive standardization, digitization, and process excellence through PLM and digital workflows.
Product Development & Innovation
Design and develop advanced brake systems for rail and metro vehicles.
Collaborate with global teams to validate, test, and industrialize new designs.
Improve product reliability through RAMS and accelerated life testing.
Enhance existing products to reduce cost of poor quality and improve performance.
Customer & Program Management
Engage with customers, certification bodies, and field teams for technical approvals and performance feedback.
Ensure compliance with fire, smoke, and safety regulations.
Lead technical discussions, audits, and customer reviews to ensure satisfaction and timely project delivery.
People & Organizational Leadership
Build and mentor a high-performing team of brake system engineers.
Identify training needs and develop internal expertise.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Operational Excellence
Optimize material use and cost through engineering value analysis.
Ensure adherence to ISO and environmental standards.
Lead documentation, catalogues, and manuals for all products.
Track engineering KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
15+ years of experience in brake system design, development, and validation, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.
Experience in rail, transit, automotive, or aerospace engineering.
Strong knowledge of PLM systems, digital workflows, and global compliance standards.
Exposure to Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.
