Senior Data Platform Specialist

Job descriptionBachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering (a plus) 5+ years of relevant experience in Data Engineering working with large-scale data-driven systems Deep understanding of dimensional modeling and schema design for OLAP environments Experience optimizing queries for complex data sets Extensive experience working with MPP data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks) Experience designing workflows on modern orchestration frameworks (e.g. Airflow, Prefect) Advanced DBT skills (macro design, generalized testing, incremental strategies) Strong knowledge of SQL and data warehouse systems, especially Snowflake Experience with BI tools (Tableau preferred) Expertise in object-oriented and functional programming languages (Python preferred) Strong programming skills, able to write modular code Understanding of DevOps principles (CI / CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code) Understanding of polyglot data persistence (relational, key / value, document, column) Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to proactively solve issues Excellent communication and organizational skills with proven ability to complete tasks and meet deadlines
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, build and maintain scalable data infrastructure that supports both batch and real-time processing of large datasets.
- Improve the reliability and quality of data pipelines through proactive monitoring, validation, and failure detection.
- Develop a centralized data cataloging system to streamline integration and discovery of datasets.
- Create optimized end-to-end analytical solutions using fast and robust data pipelines.
- Automate manual processes and enable self-service data consumption.
- Deploy and configure components in production environments.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency incident support.
- Mentor colleagues on data platform design and operation.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and provide recommendations to drive business growth.
