Underground Cable Senior Designer - Transmission & Distribution

We are seeking an Underground Cable Designer with a background in electrical or civil engineering to join our Transmission & Distribution team. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of experience with a Diploma or 6-8 years with an ITI, specializing in underground powerline projects. This role requires a proficient and innovative designer who can manage multiple projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure all designs comply with relevant codes and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and Drafting : Prepare designs and drawings for underground powerline projects using software such as Civil 3D, MicroStation , and ArcGIS . You will also perform QA / QC reviews of pulling calculations, alignments, and design standards.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship : Coordinate and oversee the workload of lower-level drafting personnel. You will be responsible for their mentorship and technical development, ensuring all project deliverables are of high quality and submitted on time.
• Project Management : Manage multiple projects, deadlines, and deliverables in parallel. You must have a proven track record of finding solutions to complex problems and the ability to prioritize work effectively.
• Innovation & Compliance : Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field and identify optimal methods to perform design tasks. You'll ensure all designs comply with relevant codes of practice, standards, and regulatory requirements.
