Job Title : Data Scientist (PhD)

Location : Hyderabad, Telangana

Employment Type : Full-Time / Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist with a PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to design and implement data-driven solutions that drive strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced machine learning and statistical models to solve complex business challenges.
  • Conduct in-depth research and experimentation to innovate and improve data science methodologies.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large, structured and unstructured datasets to extract actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Product, Business) to integrate models into production systems.
  • Perform hypothesis testing, predictive modeling, and optimization to support strategic initiatives.
  • Publish internal technical reports and, where appropriate, contribute to research papers / patents.
  • Stay updated with the latest research trends in AI / ML, deep learning, NLP, and data analytics.
  • Mentor junior data scientists and provide thought leadership within the team.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in applying machine learning, deep learning, and statistical techniques to real-world problems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages, with expertise in libraries / frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with large-scale data platforms (Hadoop, Spark, or similar).
  • Strong background in mathematics, probability, linear algebra, and optimization.
  • Experience with research publication or contribution to open-source projects is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    • Preferred Skills

  • Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Exposure to natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or reinforcement learning.
  • Strong domain expertise in [Healthcare, Finance, Retail, etc. – customize as per your industry].
  • Track record of academic publications or patents in AI / ML / Data Science.
