Design Engineer - Bearing Solutions

Employment Type : Full Time (6 days a week).

Location : Kanpur, India

We are designers and manufacturers of high precision Fluid Film Bearings for use in Turbines, Gearboxes, Compressors and other sophisticated rotating machinery.

We are looking for a Design Engineer to join our product engineering team. You will play a key role in conceptualizing and designing high-performance bearings, and optimizing them for performance and durability. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency with CAD / CAE tools, and a deep understanding of material selection and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Design and develop bearing components and assemblies for a wide range of applications.
Prepare 2D / 3D CAD models, detailed engineering drawings, and specifications.
Perform design calculations (load, speed, lubrication etc.) to ensure reliability and performance.
Work with suppliers on material selection and heat treatment.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimise designs for production efficiency and quality.
Document design processes, maintain technical files, and contribute to design standards.
Engage in continuous improvement activities for product performance and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

Diploma or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum 3 years of experience in design of precision mechanical components.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).

Strong understanding of tribology, metallurgy, and material science.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as forging, heat treatment and machining.

Desired Skills

Knowledge of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.

Ability to work with ERP systems.

Keen attention to detail, and strong problem solving ability.

Salary : 25-40k / month depending on qualifications, experience and skills.
