About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior SQL Developer to lead and execute the migration of legacy systems to modern Azure environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SQL Server, proven experience with Azure SQL Database, and a successful track record in end-to-end data migration projects. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, optimizing database performance, and ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the migration of legacy databases (on-premises or cloud) to Azure SQL Database or Azure SQL Managed Instance, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime
• Analyze, reverse-engineer, and optimize existing MSSQL schemas; design efficient, modern data models aligned with new application architectures.
• Develop, implement, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to support business functionality.
• Plan and execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes using tools such as Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
• Implement robust security protocols (e.g., TDE, RBAC, Private Link) and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
• Monitor and tune database performance, manage backups, and configure disaster recovery strategies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Document migration plans, processes, and post-migration configurations; provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with application developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to support migration and modernization efforts.
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices for SQL Server and Azure environments.
