Role Overview
As a Linux Engineer / Admin, you will be responsible for managing, optimizing, and maintaining our physical Linux servers while also providing desktop support. You will play a key role in maintaining system reliability, performance, and security in a fast-paced, high-frequency trading environment.
Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain physical Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Provide desktop support to internal teams, ensuring smooth operation of workstations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve server and desktop issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Implement and maintain system security, including regular updates, patching, and configuration.
- Manage services such as DNS, DHCP, NFS, and LDAP on Linux servers.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (Shell, Bash, or Python) to streamline server management tasks.
- Perform system health checks, monitor server performance, and resolve bottlenecks.
- Ensure proper configuration, deployment, and optimization of server hardware.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining server infrastructure for trading environments, ensuring low-latency and high-availability setups.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure for trading operations.
- Provide technical support to internal users, resolving issues related to desktop and Linux server environments.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or Engineer, particularly with physical server environments.Strong knowledge of Linux server administration (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and desktop Support.Proficiency with network services such as NFS, DNS, DHCP, and LDAP.Experience in troubleshooting both hardware and software issues for Linux servers and desktop systems.Strong scripting skills in Shell, Bash, or Python for automation tasks.Familiarity with high-frequency trading (HFT) environments and low-latency server configurations is a plus.Experience with virtualization technologies (e.G., VMware, KVM) is advantageous.Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP / IP, routing, and firewall management.Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with a focus on uptime and performance.Basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is beneficial.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).2+ years of experience in Linux system administration, particularly in managing physical servers.Experience in providing desktop support in a corporate or high-performance setting.Benefits & Perks :
