About the Role :

We are looking for an Engineering Manager / Senior Engineering Manager to hire, lead, manage, and mentor a team of engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of our core platform. You will be overseeing designs, enforcing engineering best practices, ensuring compliance, managing development, maintaining technical quality, and handling deployment, rollout, and engineering support

Key Accountabilities & Support Actions :

Collaborate with stakeholders to align roadmaps, manage resource allocation, and communicate effectively to achieve business objectives.
Define and champion the technical vision, driving impactful outcomes through the management of team OKRs.
Build and nurture a high-performing team by hiring, mentoring, and retaining top talent, fostering a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative environment.
Maintain a strong understanding of business processes, customer value propositions, and technology enablement within relevant domains.
Stay current with technology objectives, architectural paradigms, and engineering best practices, and ensure their adoption within the team.
Own the design and development systems, ensuring seamless functionality, system integration, usability, and adherence to non-functional requirements (NFRs).
Take full ownership of feature delivery, including techno-functional design, code quality, flexible / modular design, and rules-driven behavior.
Be directly responsible for quality rollouts, production support, and system stabilization.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Mentor and train junior engineers and peers.
Actively contribute to hiring and culture-building initiatives.

What we're looking for :

10+ years of hands-on software development experience, demonstrating a deep understanding of software engineering principles, best practices, and system design.

Proven expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS, and Microservices architecture, with the ability to guide and evaluate technical decisions.

Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and initiatives, including hiring, mentoring, and building high-performing teams.

Strong experience in hands-on software engineering for business applications, with a focus on the practical application of engineering principles and efficient development workflows.

Adaptable and resourceful, with the ability to quickly learn and work with multiple languages and tech stacks.

Detail-oriented and analytical thinker with a clear and concise communication style.

Agile, flexible mindset, coupled with a strong commitment to best practices and safe deployment approaches.

Experience in digital commerce and retail is highly desired.

Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and motivational skills, with the ability to build trust and nurture talent.

Proven ability to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations, and effectively pivot between technical and non-technical responsibilities.
