Job Purpose
The Head-Production is responsible for leading and managing all manufacturing operations related to injection moulded components and products, ensuring consistent quality, productivity and cost efficiency. The role demands a strong understanding of injection moulding technology, tooling, materials and process optimization, along with experience in managing large-scale production for diverse sectors such as automotive, toys, consumer durables and lifestyle products. Indepth understanding of polymers and plastics is desired.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Develop and implement production strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
- Lead capacity planning, budgeting and forecasting for production operations.
- Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure alignment of production goals with quality, safety and delivery standards.
Production Management
Oversee the entire production process from planning to execution and delivery.Monitor KPIs such as yield, efficiency, downtime, cost per unit and on-time delivery.Manage production schedules and ensure resource optimization (manpower, materials, machinery).Coordinate with procurement, supply chain, quality and engineering teams to ensure smooth operations.People & Team Leadership
Lead, coach and develop production managers, supervisors and staff.Foster a high-performance culture with accountability, teamwork and safety compliance.Implement training and skill development programs for production personnel.Quality, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.Maintain quality standards in line with ISO, GMP or relevant certifications.Drive root cause analysis and corrective action for production deviations or quality issues.Continuous Improvement
Implement Lean Manufacturing or similar process improvement methodologies.Optimize workflows to reduce waste, improve efficiency and enhance product quality.Introduce automation and digital tools to modernize production capabilities.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) :

B.E. / B.TECH. (PLASTICS ENGINEERING / TECHNOLOGY) from CIPET or similar institute15+ years of progressive experience in production or operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleProven track record in managing large-scale production facilities or teams.Strong knowledge of production systems, Lean / Kaizen principles and quality management systems.Excellent leadership, problem-solving and communication skills.Core Competencies :
