Mainframe Application Developer Job Description We are seeking a Mainframe Application Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the creation and implementation of new mainframe applications as well as the modification of existing ones. Additionally they will analyze and resolve complex technical issues conduct code reviews enhance application performance and provide timely support for production issues and outages. The successful candidate should have a strong command of mainframe technologies exceptional problem-solving abilities and the capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Responsibilities Develop and implement new mainframe applications or modify existing ones. Analyze and resolve complex technical issues and defects. Conduct code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices. Enhance application performance and scalability. Provide timely support for production issues and outages. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. Monitor system performance and identify potential bottlenecks. Create and maintain clear and concise technical documentation. Share knowledge and expertise with team members. Collaborate with business analysts project managers and other team members to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Work closely with infrastructure and operations teams to ensure smooth deployment and maintenance. Required Skills and Experience Strong proficiency in mainframe technologies including COBOL JCL CICS DB2 and IMS. Experience with mainframe development tools and -depth understanding of mainframe system architecture and operating systems (z/OS). Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong analytical and logical thinking abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills both written and verbal. Requirements Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field (preferred) 2 years of experience in mainframe application development Strong understanding of mainframe system architecture and operating systems
