Who Should Not Apply for Sales, Marketing, or Relationship-Building Roles
In considering the right fit for these roles, we’d like to highlight a few types of individuals who might not thrive in them :
Those who dislike talking to new people : If approaching strangers or starting conversations feels daunting, this role may not be a comfortable fit.People who are uncomfortable with rejection : Sales and marketing often involve hearing "no" more than "yes," so resilience is key.Individuals who prefer a very predictable, routine-based environment : These roles are dynamic and often require adapting to new situations on the fly. Those who don't enjoy understanding or empathizing with others : Relationship-building is about connecting and empathizing with people’s needs and perspectives.People who struggle with adaptability and quick decision-making : If someone finds it hard to make spontaneous decisions on behalf of the company or pivot strategies when needed, they may not thrive in a fast-paced, deal-oriented environment. Those who lack a profit-oriented mindset : We're looking for individuals who see opportunities and can navigate negotiations to open doors to bigger deals. If someone isn’t comfortable thinking in terms of profitability and strategic value, they might not be the best fit.Video Submission Instructions for Applicants
As part of your application, we’d like you to upload a short video introducing yourself. This will help us get to know you beyond the resume. Here are five key points we’d love for you to cover in your video :
Introduce Yourself Briefly : Tell us who you are, your background, and what excites you about a role in sales, marketing, and relationship-building.Share an Example of a Time You Demonstrated a Growth Mindset : We’re looking for individuals who are always eager to learn and grow, so tell us about a situation where you embraced a challenge or learned something new.Explain Your Approach to Building Relationships : Since this role is all about connecting with people, share how you typically go about forming and nurturing professional relationships.Discuss Your Flexibility with Work Hours and Travel : We value work-life balance, but we also need people who are comfortable with non-traditional hours, weekend events, and occasional travel within the city. Let us know that you’re open to this kind of flexibility and have your own vehicle for city travel.Highlight Any Relevant Experience in Events or a Similar Industry : If you have past experience in events or a related field, or you’ve been in roles that required a lot of relationship-building, tell us a bit about that.Additional Note : We are specifically looking for people who have an aggressive approach in a positive sense—those who are proactive, have a growth mindset, and aren’t tied strictly to a 9-to-5 routine.
