Senior Software Engineer - Shopify Integration

Job description

Were looking for a hands-on, early-stage startup engineer to lead our e-commerce and product technology roadmap. Youll own the design, performance, and scalability of our website, ensure exceptional customer experience, and develop new features that directly impact business growth.

While ERP and POS integrations will be part of the role, the primary focus is building and optimizing our online sales and customer engagement platform. Over time, youll grow into a senior leadership position shaping our entire digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Website & E-Commerce Development :

Own the end-to-end e-commerce experience on Shopify, from UI / UX to backend integrations.
Develop new site features, optimize load speeds, and ensure mobile-first design.
Implement A / B testing, SEO best practices, and analytics tracking to improve conversions.
Reduce bounce rates, improve click-through and purchase completion rates.
Ensure site scalability to handle future product and store expansion.

2. Technology Architecture & Integrations :

Set the foundational technical architecture for e-commerce, CRM, and customer data.

Lead API integrations (Shopify, POS, Zoho, Gati ERP where relevant) to maintain data consistency.

Build internal workflows for e-commerce fulfilment, custom orders, and customer service tools.

Develop lightweight internal tools (e.g., Google Sheetsbased systems) to solve immediate operational needs.

3. Connecting Online & Offline Journeys :

Create flows to capture mobile numbers online and link them to browsing history.

Enable in-store teams to access this customer data in real time for personalized sales.

Build tracking mechanisms to unify online and offline customer behavior.

4. Data, Analytics & Growth Enablement :

Create dashboards for key e-commerce KPIs and customer behavior insights.

Work with Google Analytics and related tools to drive performance improvements.

Explore AI-driven features such as personalized recommendations and automated workflows.

Desired Skills & Qualifications :

Experience in full-stack development or technical product roles.

Must have early-stage startup experience proven ability to build, iterate, and adapt quickly.

Strong track record in e-commerce website development, preferably on Shopify or other open-source platforms.

Experience integrating APIs and managing multi-platform data flows.

Comfort across multiple programming languages; C# and open-source familiarity are a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills and ownership mindset.

Excellent communication skills and ability to work directly with founders and cross-functional leaders.
