Job Description : Faculty – Social Media & Creator Economy

Position : Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor (depending on experience)
Role Overview
We are looking for creative professionals and educators who can teach, mentor, and practice within the rapidly evolving social media and creator economy space . The ideal candidate should combine academic knowledge with hands-on expertise in digital content creation , including content ideation, design, video editing, and campaign execution .
This is not a traditional teaching role — we want content creators, digital storytellers, and marketing strategists who can work with students on real projects, production labs, and brand collaborations .
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching & Mentorship
- Teach courses in social media strategy, content creation, influencer marketing, and digital brand building .
- Conduct hands-on workshops in design and editing tools : Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, CapCut, Canva, Figma, etc.
- Mentor students in building their own creator brands — from concept to monetization.
- Content Creation & Practice
- Actively produce content (short-form video, graphics, campaign creatives) as teaching material and case studies .
- Collaborate with the university’s media team to showcase SEMCE’s work on social platforms .
- Develop mini-campaigns with students to simulate real-world creator economy workflows.
- Curriculum & Innovation
- Design studio-based courses where students create, edit, publish, and analyze content.
- Integrate emerging tools (AI in content creation, analytics dashboards, synthetic influencers, Web3 monetization).
- Industry Engagement
- Bring in live projects from agencies, startups, and creator brands.
- Organize content hackathons, brand collaborations, and creator bootcamps .
- Build student exposure through guest sessions, workshops, and internship pipelines.
Qualifications & Experience
Master’s / Ph.D. in Media Studies, Communication, Design, Marketing, or related fields .OR strong industry / practitioner profile in digital media, content creation, or influencer marketing.Hands-on expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects), Canva, Figma, and social media publishing tools.Experience in running campaigns, managing brand collabs, or growing creator accounts preferred.Strong portfolio of work (social media campaigns, video projects, design work, or creator brand).Skills & Competencies
Expertise in content ideation, visual storytelling, graphic design, and video production .Ability to guide students on end-to-end content pipelines : ideation → production → publishing → analytics → monetization.Deep understanding of platform dynamics (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn) .Knowledge of analytics tools (Meta Ads Manager, YouTube Studio, Google Analytics).Strong mentorship mindset — inspire students to become content creators, not just consumers.Passion for staying updated with social media trends, tools, and monetization models .
