Job Purpose : The Power Scheduling Manager - MUL is responsible for ensuring efficient power scheduling, load forecasting, and real-time grid management to optimize energy procurement and distribution. The role drives demand-supply balancing, minimizes deviations, and ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines while coordinating with stakeholders for accurate scheduling and dispatch. It strengthens operational efficiency by leveraging data analytics, optimizing scheduling strategies, and mitigating imbalance penalties to support cost-effective and reliable power distribution within MPSEZ Utilities Limited
Responsibilities
Power Scheduling Manager-MUL
Power Scheduling And Load Management
Ensure efficient power scheduling by forecasting demand, preparing day-ahead schedules, real-time schedules and monthly schedules, and optimizing energy allocation.
Maintain load balance across demand & supply by adjusting schedules in response to grid fluctuations and real-time demand.
Optimize short-term and long-term scheduling strategies to ensure system reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Real-Time Grid Operations And Dispatch Optimization
Monitor real-time power drawl and consumption trends, adjusting schedules dynamically to prevent grid imbalances.
Implement automated scheduling and dispatch strategies to enhance system responsiveness and minimize deviations.
Coordinate with Load Dispatch Centres (LDCs), grid operators, and power plants to ensure seamless power flow and adherence to dispatch instructions.
Regulatory Compliance And Market Operations
Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory guidelines by following state and national grid codes, scheduling norms, and power trading regulations.
Optimize power procurement and scheduling in line with contractual obligations, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and open access policies.
Manage reporting and documentation for scheduling approvals, deviations, penalties, and compliance audits.
Renewable Energy Integration And Scheduling Optimization
Incorporate renewable energy sources (solar, wind, hybrid) into power scheduling strategies to maximize clean energy utilization.
Reduce renewable energy curtailment by forecasting variability and ensuring grid stability through adaptive scheduling.
Implement data-driven analytics and forecasting tools to enhance scheduling accuracy for variable renewable energy sources.
Power Trading And Energy Cost Optimization
Support short-term and day-ahead market trading strategies by analyzing price trends, availability, and demand forecasts.
Reduce energy costs by optimizing procurement schedules, ensuring efficient utilization of contracted and market-based power sources.
Coordinate with power exchanges, traders, and market operators to identify cost-saving opportunities and minimize deviations.
Stakeholder Coordination And Cross-Functional Engagement
Work closely with generator, transmission, bulk consumers , and operations teams to align power scheduling with grid capacity and system constraints.
Liaise with LDCs, regulatory bodies, market operators, and external agencies to ensure smooth coordination in scheduling and dispatch processes.
Improve decision-making by providing real-time insights, analytics, and performance reports to management and key stakeholders.
Technology Integration And Process Enhancement
Enhance power scheduling accuracy by leveraging AI-driven forecasting models, automation tools, and SCADA-based real-time monitoring.
Improve scheduling efficiency and operational control by integrating smart grid technologies and predictive analytics into scheduling frameworks.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by implementing best practices in scheduling, dispatch automation, and energy optimization.

Qualifications
Educational Qualification :
Bachelor's degree (mandatory) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Management, Economics, or a related field.
Master's degree (preferred) in MBA (Energy Management, Finance, Strategy), Power & Regulatory Law, or Infrastructure Management.
Work Experience (Range Of Years)
8–12 years of experience in power scheduling, energy forecasting, grid operations, or energy trading.
