Scope of Responsibilities :
- Ensure all compensation and benefits programs are both cost-effective and market-competitive, aligned with business objectives, and fully compliant with local laws
- Support key annual cycles including compensation planning, insurance renewals, and monthly benefits enrollment
- Lead or support regional C&B initiatives and ensure local alignment with Illumina's global total rewards strategy
- Evaluate complex issues and propose solutions that consider varying practices and market dynamics
- Plan and implement compensation or benefits changes, managing communication, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement
- Develop and deliver training materials, documentation, and communications that explain compensation and benefits to employees and leaders in a clear and understandable way
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding of C&B programs across HR, Finance, Legal, and leadership teams
- Serve as a subject matter expert on India compensation and benefits legislation and compliance requirements
- Lead or support regional C&B benchmarking and participate in 1–2 compensation and benefits surveys per year
- Utilize Mercer tools or similar compensation systems and platforms to analyze, model, and benchmark pay and benefits programs
- May mentor junior team members or regional HR partners as needed
- Support the wider COE (Center of Excellence) with global or cross-regional initiatives
Experience and Education :
Master's degree required, preferably in HR, Business, or related disciplineMinimum of 8 years of experience in compensation and benefits in a multinational environmentDeep understanding of compensation and benefits regulations, programs, and best practices in IndiaExperience supporting other regions is a plusPrior hands-on experience with Mercer tools (or similar platforms) and compensation surveysStrong experience developing compensation / benefits documentation, FAQs, and program rollout plansDemonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and present insights to leadershipSkills Required
