Mechanical Design Engineer

Autobahn Industries is seeking a skilled Design Engineer to develop, review, and improve drilling handling tools and related equipment in compliance with API Spec 7K and customer requirements . The role involves preparing complete design packages, ensuring manufacturability, and supporting production and quality teams.

• Design and develop drilling handling tools.
• Prepare complete design packages, including drawings, calculations, BOM, and specifications
• Ensure compliance with API standards and customer technical requirements
• Perform engineering calculations (load, stress, tolerance, material selection)
• Conduct risk assessment during the design stage and implement mitigation measures
• Coordinate with Production and QA for manufacturability and compliance
• Support root cause analysis for product failures and suggest design improvements
• Maintain proper document control and revision management
• Assist during customer and API audits related to design documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 5–10 years of experience in heavy engineering or oil & gas equipment design
• Strong knowledge of API standards (preferably API 7K)
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo or equivalent)
• Understanding of materials, heat treatment, and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
