Job description

• Burns McDonnell India (BMI) TD Transmission Engineering Department is looking for young, dynamic and self-motivated Transmission designer to support our TD Transmission Line Engineering and Design Team in the Mumbai Office. TD offers depth and breadth of experience in power delivery facilities like overhead transmission-distribution, underground transmission-distribution, substation design, renewable power integration, Smart Grid and more, which offer a wide range of design and project execution experiences.
• This position is responsible for Transmission line related drafting and design work. Candidate will perform work independently to perform transmission design drafting tasks, CADD design, prepare material lists and other tasks for simple to moderately complex projects.
• Following are some specific duties responsibilities :
• The preparation of engineering drawings like Plan Profile, permitting, assembly and structure framing / loading drawings, reports and designs to support engineers.
• Preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with CADD systems.
• Picking up the markups as per the client requirement.
• Communicating with engineers, and incorporating knowledge gained into drawings.
• Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside the engineering team.
• Work independently but with some engineering guidance on complex projects
• Ensuring final designs are compliant with regulations.
• Identifying and communicating potential design / drafting problems to the rest of the team.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients
• Ownership responsibility on the assigned work is required
