Job Responsibilities :
Fire Safety & Prevention
Conduct regular fire risk assessments and ensure mitigation strategies are in place
Monitor and maintain all fire safety systems (fire alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, hydrants, detectors)
Plan, execute, and document fire evacuation drills in coordination with department heads
Ensure fire exits, emergency lighting, and evacuation routes are clearly marked and accessible
Hospital Safety Compliance
Ensure adherence to NABH / JCI / Local Fire Authority standards and regulations
Maintain updated documentation for audits, licenses, permits, and compliance inspections
Liaise with municipal fire departments and ensure timely renewals of fire NOCs and approvals
Training & Awareness
Conduct fire safety training and emergency response workshops for hospital staff, security personnel, and management
Develop safety manuals, SOPs, and signage in collaboration with quality and administration teams
Raise awareness of potential fire hazards across departments
Operational Safety
Perform routine inspections of high-risk areas such as ICUs, labs, kitchens, and power rooms
Ensure safe storage and handling of flammable gases, chemicals, and hazardous materials
Support in investigation and reporting of fire-related incidents and recommend corrective actions.
Team Coordination & Leadership
Lead or assist a team of fire marshals or wardens across hospital shifts
Support in emergency preparedness planning and disaster management drills
Coordinate with engineering, maintenance, and biomedical teams for integrated safety practices
