Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic PLM Administrator with hands-on experience in PTC Windchill PLM and a solid background in PLM system administration. The candidate will play a pivotal role in managing L1 support, driving R&D user adoption, coordinating between business and technical teams, and enabling the rollout of new PLM features and best practices across Voltas locations. The role involves extensive collaboration with PLM support vendors, the SAP team, IT / infra, and end-users across sites.

KEY DELIVERABLES

L1 PLM Support :

  • Diagnose and resolve first-level support issues related to PTC Windchill, including user access, data management, workflow queries, and integration points with SAP.
  • Escalate unresolved technical issues to the PLM support vendor, follow up, and ensure timely closure.
  • Maintain system health checks and basic admin tasks.

User Adoption & Training :

  • Drive R&D user adoption by conducting onboarding, training sessions, and creating user manuals for PTC Windchill PLM, with attention to integration with SAP material code creation.
  • Organize workshops for new features / updates and document best practices.
  • Co-ordination :

  • Act as the bridge between users, SAP team (material code management), and IT infrastructure (workstation setup / configuration, client installations).
  • Collaborate with PLM support vendors for advanced queries, customizations, and data migrations.
  • Liaise with site teams during rollouts, upgrades, and audits.
  • System Rollouts & Best Practices :

  • Coordinate and contribute to the rollout of new PLM features / enhancements from PTC.
  • Gather feedback from users / teams and propose improvements for user experience and efficiency.
  • Champion the adoption of industry best practices for PLM, data governance, and change management.
  • Documentation & Reporting :

  • Maintain records for issue tracking, training material, system updates, and user requests.
  • Analyse support patterns to recommend system / process improvements.
  • ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES

    Education background

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, IT, or related discipline. Experience (overall 10~12yrs of experience
  • Structure Design engineer for complete product in appliance industry and has hands on 3~4 yrs of experience
  • 2~3 years of experience in data migration from Creo / NX…. other CAD
  • Windchill Site management and server management experience 1~2 years
  • Fair understanding of the various components and assembly manufacturing processes in white goods industry Related Software :
  • Exposure to Product Design tools (Creo, AutoCAD, NX) and understanding of their integration with Windchill.
  • Behavioural Traits :

  • Excellent communication and training skills (English, Hindi).
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, multitask, and prioritize.
  • Willingness to travel 25% of the time (Pan-India).
  • Strong team player, with proactive and solution-oriented approach.
