Position : Wire Saw Machine (Production Incharge)

Department : Production / Cutting Unit

Reports to : Production Supervisor / Plant Manager

Job Purpose

Responsible for operating and maintaining the wire saw machine to cut marble, granite, or stone blocks into slabs / sizes as per production requirements, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Machine Operation

Operate the wire saw machine for block cutting as per given dimensions.

Set machine parameters, monitor speed, tension, and feed rate during cutting.

Load and unload marble / stone blocks safely using cranes or lifting tools.

Production & Quality

Ensure accurate cutting as per drawings and production schedules.

Inspect quality of slabs and report any cracks, defects, or irregularities.

Minimize wastage of material during cutting.

Maintenance & Safety

Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic maintenance of the machine.

Monitor condition of the diamond wire and replace it when required.

Follow all safety protocols while handling heavy stone blocks and machines.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain daily production logs (cutting details, machine downtime, wire consumption, etc.).

Report machine breakdowns, technical issues, and maintenance needs to the supervisor.

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of wire saw cutting techniques for marble / granite / stone.

Ability to read cutting plans, measurements, and technical drawings.

Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Attention to detail and quality control.

Safety-conscious and physically fit for handling heavy operations.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum : 10th / ITI (Mechanical / Electrical) preferred.

3-5 years of experience operating wire saw or similar stone cutting machines.

Knowledge of diamond wire tools and block handling equipment is an advantage.
