Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Industrial Design Engineer / Product Design Engineer located in Bengaluru . The role involves designing and developing innovative products, creating industrial design solutions, and utilising computer-aided design (CAD) tools for product development. Daily tasks will include generating 3D models, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring designs align with functionality, aesthetics, and manufacturing feasibility.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and develop innovative B2C products that meet functional, ergonomic, and aesthetic requirements.
- Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD to create 3D models, 2D drawings, and design mockups.
- Collaborate with industrial designers to align product form, usability, and brand identity.
- Develop concept sketches, renderings, and visual presentations for new product ideas.
- Select suitable materials, finishes, and colours based on cost, brand guidelines, and sustainability.
- Work with cross-functional teams (R&D, marketing, and production) to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Key Skills :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Design / Product Design Engineering.3–6 years’ experience in B2C product design (home appliances, consumer electronics, or related).Proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling, assemblies, surface modelling) and AutoCAD (2D drafting).Knowledge of manufacturing processes : plastics, sheet metal, die casting, injection moulding, and assembly.Strong understanding of ergonomics, usability, and industrial design principles.Familiar with DFM, DFA, GD&T, and material selection.Excellent visualisation, presentation, and communication skills.Ability to collaborate with suppliers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
