We are seeking a visionary and technically astute Tech Lead to spearhead Cost Performance Engineering group. The ideal candidate brings a blend of deep mechanical engineering expertise and proven leadership in cross-functional collaboration across stress analysis, manufacturing engineering, and material science. This role involves driving innovative design solutions while balancing performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability. Responsibility will encompass developing accurate and consistent should-cost models for metal machining commodities. These cost models will be used to identify cost improvement opportunities, determine product feasibility, and potential cost avoidance. You will be a partner with Engineering, Product Management and sourcing teams. The objective is to enable cost leadership and sustain competitive advantage, maximizing the value of new products, starting with the commodities of metal machined parts components.

Work Experience

Key Responsibilities :

• Executes should costing for large and complex metal machine components & assemblies.
• Acts as an enabler to drive down Cost of components / assemblies by influencing Design on Manufacturability, Costs and Technical Cost validations.
• Serve as a technical process expert for complex problems across engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, product management, and suppliers to solve business critical issues.
• Develop and execute plans for qualified suppliers to meet new product introduction, supplier transition in a timely and cost-effective manner, with focus on machining & different products.
• Should be provide suggestions for value addition and engage in various activities with cross functional teams utilizing material cost / design knowledge to drive cost / quality improvement.
• Plan and execute vendor visits in conjunction with our sourcing groups to conduct research for development / validation of cost models.
• Evaluate new product needs and assist in developing advanced roadmaps including technology solutions, investment, and overall technology strategy.

Deliver the results for Cost avoidance and Cost reduction projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills Required To Perform The Job :

Minimum of six years of experience in should costing, cost estimation, or cost engineering roles within the manufacturing industry. We value direct shop floor experience.
