Sr UX / UI Designer

Job Description

We are seeking a thoughtful and innovative UI / UX Designer to join our product team. In this

role, you’ll be responsible for creating user-centered designs that solve real problems for

healthcare staff and providers. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and

stakeholders to ensure our software is not only functional but also intuitive, accessible, and

efficient in high-stakes clinical environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Design and refine user interfaces and experiences that meet the needs of healthcare

professionals, patients, and administrative users.

Develop wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity mockups to communicate

design solutions and meet product requirements.

Proactively gather user feedback through usability testing, interviews, and other

research methods to inform and iterate on designs.

Clearly present design rationale, backed by user research, behavioral data, and industry

standards.

Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation of UI / UX designs and

troubleshoot any user experience issues.

Maintain and evolve design systems and style guides to support consistency and

scalability.

Stay up to date with best practices in UI / UX design, accessibility, and healthcare

technology.

Document design decisions, workflows, and usability findings.

Provide strategic direction for design efforts across products, ensuring a consistent and

cohesive user experience.

Set and maintain high standards for usability, accessibility, and visual design.

Review and provide feedback on design work to ensure alignment with user needs,

business goals, and technical constraints.

Collaborate with product and engineering leaders to define project priorities, scope, and

timelines.

Champion a data- and research-driven approach to design; encourage the use of user

feedback, analytics, and usability testing to inform decisions.

Help define and evolve the organization’s design processes, tools, and systems.

Advocate for the role of design in cross-functional planning and decision-making.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a

related field.

7+ years of experience in UI / UX design, preferably in a collaborative, cross-functional

team setting.

Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.

Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility

standards (ADA).

Strong portfolio showcasing design process and impactful work.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience designing digital tools for the healthcare industry, particularly for clinical or

administrative workflows.

Deep understanding of the needs and challenges of healthcare professionals, such as

physicians, nurses, and support staff.

Familiarity with healthcare compliance and usability standards (e.g., HIPAA, HL7, FDA

guidelines for digital health tools).

Experience designing products that require complex logic workflows—such as branching

decision trees, conditional interactions, or multi-step processes.

Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative user research in healthcare settings.

Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design practices.

Basic knowledge of front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.

Requirements

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.

• Experience : ○ 3 to 5 years as software engineer developing SaaS applications ○ 7 to 10 years of project management experience in technical or software development environments. ○ Proven experience delivering complex projects on time and within budget. ○ Strong technical background or understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), cloud platforms, or IT infrastructure (depending on the domain).
• Skills : ○ Excellent organizational and time-management skills. ○ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. ○ Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, etc.). ○ Knowledge of agile, Scrum, or other project management methodologies. ○ Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills. ○ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. ○ Experience delivering projects involving microservices, REST APIs, or third-party integrations. ○ Ability to understand technical architecture, APIs, cloud infrastructure (AWS / GCP), and CI / CD workflows. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
• PMP or Scrum Master certification.
• Familiarity with EMR integrations. (such as Epic, Cerner, Athena, Elation, and others)
• Familiarity with configuration, testing, validation, and deployment of integration interfaces using tools such as HL7, FHIR, APIs, or custom integrations.
• Previous experience in healthcare and HIPAA compliance.
• Familiarity with monitoring and release tools like Datadog, New Relic, and Jenkins.
