Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager Marine Underwriting to join our underwriting team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Marine insurance underwriting, portfolio management, and risk assessment, along with a proven ability to drive renewal retention and deliver business insights through analytics.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Underwrite SME Marine insurance proposals in line with company guidelines and risk appetite.
  • Evaluate risks accurately to ensure profitable underwriting decisions.
  • Manage declarations and monitor portfolio exposure.
  • Drive renewal retention through proactive engagement and customer-centric solutions.
  • Prepare and analyze portfolio performance reports, MIS, and business analytics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support business growth and maintain underwriting discipline.
  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor practices in the Marine insurance domain.

Qualifications & Skills :

  • Graduate / Postgraduate with relevant specialization (Insurance / Finance preferred).
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in Marine insurance underwriting, preferably in SME segment.
  • Strong knowledge of Marine insurance products, risk assessment, and policy wordings.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, portfolio management, and report preparation (Excel / BI tools).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance risk evaluation with business objectives.
