Role Overview
This is a hands-on hardware lab support role where the engineer will work closely with design, validation, and test teams to support board-level debug, validation, and lab operations. The role requires both technical expertise (electronics, debugging, lab tools) and soft skills (collaboration, safety, documentation).
Key Technical Qualifications
- Education
- Diploma / Bachelor’s in Electronics, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- → Typical for hardware / lab support roles.
- Experience
- 2–5 years in lab support, board-level debug, or hardware validation.
- → Mid-level entry role, not a fresh graduate position.
- Technical Skills
- PCB rework, soldering, component-level troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, automated test equipment.
- Reading schematics / layouts and debugging using signal tracing.
- Scripting / automation (Python, LabVIEW) → nice-to-have, not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Perform board-level debug (signal probing, fault isolation, rework).Support hardware validation & bring-up activities with design / test teams.Operate and maintain lab instruments (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, thermal chambers, etc.).Handle calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment.Manage lab inventory, tools, consumables, procurement.Document debug results, maintain equipment usage logs.Ensure ESD compliance, safety protocols, lab cleanliness.Work in shift-based support including weekends (critical point).Collaborate cross-functionally for product validation and issue resolution.Soft Skills & Traits Required
