Job Title : VP - Finance

Job Overview :

The VP - Finance is a leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the financial operations of the organization. This individual plays a crucial role in strategic planning, financial decision-making, and ensuring financial health and compliance. The position requires strong financial acumen, leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of financial management practices, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Financial Strategy and Planning :

  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making by senior management.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including forecasting and long-term financial planning.

Financial Reporting and Analysis :

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Monitor financial performance, conduct variance analysis, and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and cost-efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in handling transfer pricing, International transactions / taxation is a added advantage
  • Accounting and Compliance :

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory filings, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Cash Flow and Treasury Management :

  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and working capital management.
  • Optimize the company's capital structure and manage relationships with financial institutions, including debt financing and credit facilities.
  • Oversee investment strategies and risk management to safeguard company assets.
  • Team Leadership and Development :

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Provide guidance on complex financial issues, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Ensure the finance team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to perform effectively.
  • Cost Management and Efficiency :

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements across the organization.
  • Collaborate with department heads to review budgets, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Stakeholder Management :

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and ensure alignment between finance and other departments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, tax authorities, and financial partners.
  • Technology and Systems Improvement :

  • Leverage financial management systems and tools to streamline operations and improve reporting accuracy and efficiency. Knowledge and working experience in ZOHO is an added advantage.
  • Stay updated on emerging financial technologies and recommend system upgrades to enhance efficiency.
  • Qualifications :

  • Chartered accountant with 15-20 years of experience in a start-up environment
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop talent.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior management.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Working knowledge of ZOHO books is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
